Our Vision for VolunteeringOpen Doors is a ministry built on ordinary people accomplishing extraordinary things because of God working in and through them. In 1955, Brother Andrew became the first volunteer when he distributed a suitcase-full of Christian literature behind the Iron Curtain. Ever since, people have been involved in ministry trips, speaking in churches and encouraging others to offer their time and gifts to help persecuted Christians. And in 2011 this story will continue. Our vision is of a day when the distinctive needs, values and dreams of the persecuted church are on the agenda of every local church in the UK and Ireland. You can be part of this amazing story, and your unique gift of time and skills can take us another step towards making this dream become a reality. If you would like to know more about our volunteering opportunities, or have specific skills that you would like to offer to Open Doors, please email volunteering@opendoorsuk.org and one of our team will be in touch.
